The Green Software Foundation
is a diverse global community of organizations representing academia, for-profits and nonprofits.
To understand our mission and values, please read our Manifesto, look at our Standards, Opensource, Policy and Community Working Groups as well as our list of Projects.
There are three levels of membership in the Foundation, Steering, General and Contributor.
Steering membership
offers you a seat on the steering committee directing the Foundations strategic focus and budget allocation as well as a seat in the communications team to coordinate public relations efforts with the Foundation and other steering members.
General and steering membership
allows members of your organisation to participate in the Foundations working groups and projects and one vote per organization in any motions.
All memberships
allow you to participate in the working groups and projects.

Membership Fees
Since we are a part of the Linux Foundation, membership of the GSF requires that you are at least a silver member of the Linux Foundation. If you are already a member of the Linux Foundation, you can ignore the Linux Foundation fees in the table below. All our fees are yearly.

Applying For Membership
There are no minimum requirements for entry at the General or Contributor level. However, at the Steering level, we insist that every member organisation have a public commitment to sustainability or examples of leadership in green software. More information can be found in our GSF Steering Membership Policy.
